CasinoPlus Collaborates with Philippine Casinos to Enhance Online Gaming Experience

CasinoPlus: Pioneering the Future of Online Gaming in the Philippines

CasinoPlus, a licensed online gaming provider regulated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), is making waves in the gaming industry with its recent partnerships with seven integrated resort (IR) licensees across the Philippines, including several in Manila. This strategic move aims to facilitate the transition of traditional land-based casino operations into the online realm, allowing local patrons to enjoy their favorite gaming experiences through a regulated platform.

Bridging Land-Based Casinos and Online Gaming

At the heart of CasinoPlus’s initiative is a commitment to simplify the process for physical casinos looking to establish an online presence. Evan Spytma, the CEO of CasinoPlus, emphasizes that the company provides the essential technology, infrastructure, and operational expertise required for this significant shift. “What we’re looking to do is basically shorten the amount of time it takes for land-based casinos to go online,” Spytma explained. He noted that many traditional casino operators lack the necessary experience in adapting to the digital format, which is where CasinoPlus steps in.

The company offers a comprehensive package that includes gaming equipment, paraphernalia, and day-to-day operational support. This arrangement allows casino licensees to utilize their “online quota” without incurring additional costs. “We introduce them to our players on CasinoPlus, and we share revenue with the casino operator,” Spytma added, although he did not disclose the specifics of the revenue-sharing model.

The PIGO License System: A Game Changer

The partnerships formed by CasinoPlus are grounded in the Philippine Inland Gaming Operator (PIGO) license system, which has revolutionized the country’s gaming landscape. Under PIGO regulations, online games must be linked to physical gaming machines or tables within licensed casinos. This unique setup differentiates them from conventional online gaming platforms and provides land-based operators with an opportunity to extend their reach into the digital space.

Casino licensees in the Philippines stand to gain significantly from this system, as they receive an additional 25% allocation to their quotas for gaming tables and slot machines when utilized for online operations. Spytma highlighted the dual benefits of this arrangement, describing it as a “brand-new revenue stream” that also enhances brand recognition. “Anytime that an online player of CasinoPlus goes to a live version of slots or table games, the brand and logo of the integrated resort will be shown,” he stated. This visibility not only promotes the casino brand but also encourages crossover engagement by allowing casinos to advertise land-based events and offerings to their online players.

A Booming Industry Fueled by Technology

CasinoPlus is not just a facilitator of online gaming; it also holds a gaming license for its integrated resort, the Hotel Stotsenberg and Casino in Clark, which is currently undergoing renovations. Located just two hours from Manila, this property exemplifies the company’s dedication to both online and land-based operations.

The rapid growth of online gaming in the Philippines has significantly bolstered the local gambling industry. According to Pagcor data, the electronic gaming segment was the highest-performing sector for the quarter ending September 30, generating gross gaming revenue (GGR) of PHP35.71 billion (approximately $605.1 million). This figure represents an astonishing 464.4% increase compared to the same period the previous year.

Pagcor Chairman and President Alejandro Tengco has predicted that GGR for the Philippines will exceed $6 billion in 2024, setting a new record. Tengco attributes much of this growth to technological advancements and the widespread adoption of smartphones, which have made gaming more accessible and convenient. “The future of gaming will be online,” he asserted, highlighting the potential for continued innovation within the industry.

CasinoPlus’s Vision for the Future

By bridging the gap between traditional and online gaming, CasinoPlus aims to position itself as a key player in this evolving landscape. Through its collaborations with Philippine casino licensees, the company is not only expanding its reach but also helping land-based operators capitalize on the growing demand for digital gaming platforms.

Spytma envisions a future where the CasinoPlus platform becomes a comprehensive network, allowing online players to connect directly with individual casinos. “Casinos can actually do promotions to CasinoPlus players, even land-based promotions, which would eventually bring in those players to their property,” he stated. This forward-thinking approach underscores CasinoPlus’s commitment to fostering a thriving online gaming ecosystem that benefits both operators and players alike.
